Knocking at Your Door

Why this begging for alms of human love
When your sweetness waits to descend from above?
Why are my ears pining for a kind word from another
When sweet endearments flow tenderly from the heart of the Mother.
When shunned by all the floating chimeras of life,
When forlorn and tired from the futile strife,
At your house I finally knock,
Will you come to the door and unlock?
Will you smile and pour your bliss,
And soothe me at last with the longed for kiss.
