Vande Mātaram in Music

vande mataram bombay jayashree

Bankim Chandra Chatterjee wrote Anandamath in 1882; while the novel itself was hugely popular, it was the song Vande Maataram which was to become iconic in the spontaneity with which it was adopted by the nation. It was made into a film and later sung by various artists in different genres. Here is a lesser known short but beautiful version sung by four top Carnatic music singers: Bombay Jayashree,  Unnikrishnan, Sanjay Subramaniam and Soumya.
